Crime Scene Technology Workshop 1

Description:

This class provides the fundamentals of crime scene processing and is designed for first responders, investigators and detectives. This is a hands-on training.

While this course is not a basic course, a review of the crime scene approach, search and process are covered. Students should have basic experience or training in crime scene evidence collection and processing techniques prior to attending this workshop..

  • Recording, Notes, Sketches and Diagrams
  • Evidence Development, Identification and Collection
  • Cyanoacrylate and Chemical Processing
  • Latent Fluorescence techniques using an Alternative Light Source
  • Chemical Development and Enhancement
  • Field and Documentation by Conventional and Digital Photography
  • Significance of Bloodstain Evidence in criminal investigations
  • The Body as Evidence, Role of the Medical Examiner/Coroner
  • Use of the Forensic Laboratory
  • Legal issues and the Presentation of Physical Evidence in the Courtroom

Students are invited to bring their digital or conventional camera equipment with P.C. cord or remote.
