MERIDIAN POLICE DEPARTMENT.

ENTRY LEVEL POLICE OFFICER.

The Meridian Police Department is currently accepting application for entry level sworn officers.

Minimum requirements are a basic certificate and no longer on probation. Applicants from out of state must be able to become certified in Idaho within one year.  Starting salary will be dependant upon the applicants’ experience and certification, $36,542 to $38,396.  Benefits include a four day 40 hour work week, dedicated monthly training, ability to advance quickly and numerous special assignments. Benefits also include PERS retirement, health and dental insurance, sick leave, paid holidays and vacation leave.

Successful applicants will undergo and complete, written testing, oral interview, medical examination and psychological evaluation, polygraph and a complete background investigation.  Applicants must also successfully complete the City of Meridian Drug testing prior to employment.

Applicants successfully completing one of the Idaho College law enforcement programs may also be considered.
