Course Name: POST Patrol Rifle Instructor Course
Description:

This is the actual P.O.S.T. Patrol Rifle Instructor Course, needed to certify as a Patrol Rifle Instructor. The only Post certified Firearms Instructor course offered for Instructor certification.

Prerequisite for attendance: 

  • Completion of the Instructor Development course.
  • Must already be a P.O.S.T. certified firearms instructor, currently teaching firearms.

This is not a basic instructor class, and is not intended to teach you how to shoot, your shooting skills need to be up to speed, as well as your firearms handling skills.

Remarks:

    You will need the following items for this class -

  1. A patrol rifle

Your rifle will need to have a sling of some kind on it, and iron sights.  Optics are permitted but you must be able to access your iron sights

  1. Your Duty gun belt and Extra rifle magazines. 
  2. Eye protection  and   Ear protection
  3. Billed baseball cap
  4. 1500 rounds of rifle ammo
  5. 200 rounds of ammo for your duty handgun.

   *** Kneepads & elbow pads would be a good idea, but are not required.***

 

Please note housing will be an issue due to IRONMAN USA which is scheduled in CdA at the same time. Officer Pat Sullivan of Coeur d'Alene PD has secured a block of dorm rooms at the local junior college for $35 a day. For more information regarding these rooms, please contact:
