Tonna Marek and Dak - Nampa PD

I have been with Nampa Police Dept for 6 years. I have been a K-9 handler for 1 year this July. I received Dak on July 27th 2006. He is from Czechoslovakia and is 2 years old since March. Was narcotic detection certified in December and Patrol in January. We have 2 criminal apprehensions but no bite. His first apprehension was after a Robbery in Meridian and a pursuit that lead into Nampa. The suspect vehicle crashed and all occupants ran. After about 30 minutes of an area search Dak picked up scent and tracked to one of the subjects involved. The suspect complied to commands after a K-9 announcement was given. A Narcotic find that was a good one was a vehicle search where he located 1/4 pound of marijuana that lead to a grow of 15+ plants, a few pounds and numerous illegal weapons. --Tonna Marek (click on photos below to see larger image)
