EVOC MISSION STATEMENT
We recognize the need to train officers to reach the delicate balance between the reason and severity of an incident and the risk of injury or death to bystanders, officers, hostages, and suspects. We train officers to make decisions during the operation of emergency vehicles which are ethical, informed, legal, and require the highest consideration of human life. |

This
portion of the Idaho POST website is devoted to those interested in Emergency
Vehicle Operations (EVO) and the instruction of these decision making
and driving skills. The basic student text currently in use at the academy
and hot links to several individuals who are currently qualified to instruct
EVO courses are also listed. The EVO curriculum is evaluated and revised
as necessary. The most recent revision was done in August 2001. The following
individuals were on the EVO Curriculum Committee 2001-2002.
(Special
thanks to Steve Westerberg, author and Oregon D.P.S.S.T. for the assistance
and design of several graphics in the student workbook.) Special assistance
advisors: Sgt. Leroy Forseman, Nampa PD, and Officer Rob Namer, Boise
City Airport PD.
