Academy During the fiscal year, 2004, forty-four of the state’s Communications Specialists were granted classification. Of the number of Communication Specialists classified during FY2004, 14 were employed by Police Departments, 24 were from County Sheriff’s Offices, and 6 were with the Idaho State Police. In comparison, during the fiscal year, 2007, ninety-one of the state's Communication Specialists were granted certification. Of the number of Communication Specialists classified during FY2007, 22 were employed by Police Departments, 30 from Consolidated 911 Centers providing service to Police Departments and Sheriff's Offices, 25 from County Sheriff's Offices, and 14 were with Idaho State Police.
