Prosecuting Attorney David Young

Dave Young received his undergraduate degree in Business Administration from Boise State University in 1974. He worked 10 years in real estate before returning to school, receiving his Juris Doctorate from the University of Idaho in 1986. He was admitted to the Idaho State Bar in 1987. After graduating from the University of Idaho, he practiced law in Canyon County for over five years. He was elected Canyon County Prosecuting Attorney in 1992, taking office in 1993. He was appointed to POST Council in 1997 and was chairman in 2000. He served as President of Idaho Prosecuting Attorney’s Association in 2001 and is currently serving a second term as IPAA President.
