Bio for Daniel Weaver
Daniel L. Weaver is the Chief of Police for the City of Moscow. He has been involved in police work in Idaho for the past 32 years. He has served in every major division of the police department before becoming chief in 1995. He earned a B.S. degree in criminal justice from the University of Idaho and a Masters Degree in educational administration. He is a graduate of the FBI National Academy, and Delinquency Control Institute. He has over 2700 hours of additional POST training and possesses the basic, intermediate, advanced, management, and executive certificates through the Idaho Peace Officers Training Council. He is currently a guest instructor at the University of Idaho and is a past board member for the Moscow Chamber of Commerce. He is an active member of the Idaho Chiefs’ of Police Association and the International Association of Chiefs of Police. He serves as a member of the legislative committee for the Idaho Association of Cities, and is a member of the Advisory Council for the National Institute of Justice, Rural Law Enforcement Technology Center. He fully supports the ideals of continued training and education and is dedicated to professionalism of law enforcement in Idaho. He is a lifelong resident of Idaho, is married, and has four children.
